Ban Gioc waterfall in Cao Bang province, Vietnam has recently entered the list of 21 most beautiful waterfalls in the world voted by the famous American magazine Travel + Leisure.
Ban Gioc Waterfall Cao Bang
Located on the border of Vietnam and China, about 335km from Hanoi, Ban Gioc waterfall appears in the middle of dense forests with the majestic beauty of strong water flows from many floors and then gathers into a blue lake like gem. The magazine described “water flowing endlessly through the pools, down the floors and over the cliffs in a unique horseshoe shape”.
With a width of 300m, Ban Gioc is not only one of the four largest border waterfalls in the world but also the largest natural waterfall in Southeast Asia. It is divided into 2 parts, in which the main part belongs to both countries while the smaller part is only within the territory of Vietnam. The best way to see the majestic scenery of the waterfall is to take a bamboo boat for more than 2 USD (50,000 VND).
Some other waterfalls listed are Havasu (USA), Jim Jim (Australia), Kawasan (Philippines), Jog (India) or Kuang Si (Laos).
